ARETÉ SPACE is pleased to announce our participation in ART021 2025 grounded in the concept of “value”. ARETÉ SPACE is dedicated to build a modern and contemporary art platform that integrates academic depth with the spirit of the times. We will be presenting the works of distinguished 20th-Century Chinese female artist Li Qingping, Jutta Siebert(Germany), Xi Danni, Alice Dittmar(Austria), Zhang Xinjun, Jiang Peiyuan, Big Orange, Lin Ge, Li You, Sun Ziyao, Zhou Chi, Lia Kimura (Poland), Chen Guobao, Quan Nenggi, Marie-Therese Heublein(Germany), olfactory artist Song Yuan, sculptor Isabelle Goris(Belgium) and Xu Sheng. Our aim is to enable outstanding artistic creations and innovative concepts to gain a broader recognition and dissemination, while accompanying both artists and collectors on their journey of aesthetic exploration value appreciation, fostering mutual growth. ARETÉ SPACE currently represents a diverse group of emerging and mid-career artists from China and abroad. “Paintings from the Black Bridge” and “She says!!” are two sustained artistic initiatives championed by ARETÉ SPACE. The former adopts a historical perspective to systematically document representative artist groups and their works from pivotal periods of Chinese contemporary art, revisiting seminal artistic sites to anchor their cultural significance and historical position. The latter focuses on European women’s artistic practices, showcasing their expressions and breakthroughs across diverse contexts, while advancing gender equality and amplifying diverse voices through multifaceted artistic perspectives in the art world. We also extend our focus on new material painting, installation, and sculpture by supporting artists who work with mixed media, scent, and embroidery. Their art offers profound ideas while engaging the senses of touch and smell, forging a novel sensory encounter through the very substance of the materials. With a BA from the University of Applied Sciences, Munich, and an MA from the University of the Arts London, her work explores how digital technology influences our perception of the human body. Her paintings blend the digital and physical, presenting the body as a malleable surface. Influenced by Baroque pathos and virtual environments, she combines digital 3D modeling and traditional oil painting. Her art reflects a dynamic interplay of dissolution and growth, offering a fragmented yet cohesive view of contemporary existence. Despite uncertainties about the environment and future, Heublein’s work remains optimistic, suggesting alternative futures with imagination and curiosity. Her first solo exhibition was held in 2024 at Swanfall Art in London. Marie-Therese Heublein is featured in the group exhibition “She says!!” dedicated to European women artists. Throughout Heublein’s work, there is a recurring motif: the fractured body that metamorphoses into new, enigmatic shapes, seamlessly integrating into uncharted landscapes. The interplay of graphic shapes subtly hints at perspective, while the deliberate use of negative space invites the viewer to engage with the canvas on a profound level.
