Artist Statement

​

“In my painting, I explore how our constant connection to digital technology affects our understanding of the human body today and where we define its new boundaries. At the center is the human being in a state of transformation and a complex interplay of body and form. I question the limits of the human body in the technology-driven 21st century by visually intersecting and merging physical and digital realms of existence.

Inspired by the pathos of Baroque art and encounters with immersive virtual environments, I create dynamic compositions in which the human being is captured in a state of fluid transformation. They become a hybrid, existing simultaneously in the physical world and the digital space—a being that oscillates between two existential realities.

In my creative process, I combine traditional oil painting with digital techniques such as 3D modeling, AR, and collage, crafting multilayered and complex visual worlds that unite tradition and innovation on the canvas.

In my gentle yet challenging images, I blend visual opposites and create a unique encounter with the figure. Characteristic of my visual worlds are fragmented figures in vibrant colours, caught mid-motion or brought into focus on an oversized scale—extending to abstract, cubist forms reminiscent of pixels and glitches in a digital landscape.

I am particularly interested in the interplay between digital, experimental references, from which I draw many of my compositional elements, and the unmistakably human nature of the medium of painting. This gives rise to works of dual origin, though the human gesture remains elevated above any digital reference.

My works invite viewers to immerse themselves in this hybrid world and reflect on their own presence in an increasingly digitised society. I aim to spark a reflection on the opportunities and challenges that accompany digital transformation—a transformation that fundamentally shapes and alters our daily lives and our perception of reality.”
