Marie-Therese Heublein | Painting
Dan, Marie, Fangying, and Tonye have collaborated to produce original pieces of art that will be on exhibit for the first time from July 20th - July 27th in the newly studio spaces at Cornerstone Studios. Their work has been influenced by their varied cultural backgrounds and inspired by the creative spirit of London. Being alumni of Camberwell College of Arts, where they originally met, they established a creative studio in which they work alongside each other supporting each other’s practice in the heart of Camberwell at Cornerstone Studios. Their first group show in partnership with Eat Work Art will feature works on the reinvented and digitalised body as well as paintings that question the European tradition of portraying the female nude as the object of male gaze. Other works on display use either oil or acrylic to make the poetry of daily life visible while revealing the social fabric of society. Everyone is welcome to attend the private viewing and exhibition to meet with the artists and experience their recent works. About Cornerstone Studios: A blend of Grade II listed and modern buildings on a large, characterful site in the heart of Camberwell. This new creative community is located on the fringe of an expansive green hub, Burgess Park and is a stone’s throw away from neighbouring Peckham. With a shared focus on creative work, collaboration and repose, Cornerstone Studios will offer its residents quality workspaces around a central courtyard which will become a treasured space for relaxation and socialising.
